The program is funded by a State Education grant and allows approximately 75 students to participate cost-free in an after school program consisting of academic support and enrichment activities. The enrichment activities include sports, science, music, arts and crafts, technology, dance, drama, and more. The program is offered daily when school is in session, from the end of school to 6:00 pm. In order to participate, enrolled students must attend the program daily, and for 15 hours per week.

HOW DO I APPLY?

The Monte Vista A.S.E.S. Program is a cost-free program funded through a State Education grant that is based on student attendance. Enrollment in the program includes a family commitment that your child must attend every school day and for 15 hours a week.

Student registration for the 2016-2017 school year is currently full. If space opens up throughout the year, students on the waitlist will be notified. Applications are accepted year-round and are available in the school’s front office and on the Monte Vista A.S.E.S. webpage. Student applications are selected based on the following criteria:

1. Students who are performing below academic proficiency levels as measured by current district and/or state assessments.

2. Students identified as English Language Learners who have not reached proficiency levels as measured by the California English Language Development Test (CELDT).

3. Students who have been referred to the program by the site principal and/or a site teacher.
